This remarkable piece is a recreation of the Scythian horse petroglyph from Persepolis, meticulously crafted by the Persian artist Pejman Ebrahimi. On its back, an inscription is engraved based on a section of Xerxes’ inscription from the Apadana Palace, highlighting the grandeur of the Achaemenid Empire.
Xerxes’ Inscription:
“Ahuramazda is a great god
who created this earth
who created that sky
who created people
who created happiness for people
who made Xerxes king
One king among many
One ruler among many
I am Xerxes
The great king of kings
The king of lands with all kinds of people
King in this far and wide world
Achaemenid king, son of Darius”
This artwork pays tribute to the rich cultural and historical heritage of ancient Persia.
